harloe patent.
- David Gieck of Colorado Springs, CO reports a silver-gray composition
signal style that came from Cripple Creak, CO. He also found an
unusual unmarked aqua bushing.
- Marilyn Delling of Green River, WY reports a CD 731 S. McKee & Co.
threadless.
- Bernard Park reports an unusual metal and wood bracket used with
EC&M's and Cal. Elec. Works insulators. He also reports a CD
700 magnetic egg in aqua.
- John Neal Jr. of Ft. Pierce, FL reports finding 52 CD 128 Hemingray
E-14B's in various condition.
- Marv. Smith of Colorado Springs, CO reports a unique way to
under-light insulators.
- Joyce Kelly of Peoria Heights, IL reports a CD 110.5 with the arc
embossed New Eng. Tel. & Tel. Co.
- Carl Newman of Mt. Vernon, WA provides detailed information on how to
remove the cap and pin from glass Pyrex suspensions.
February 1969:

- Claude Potter of Hemet, CA reports the glass center section from an
M-2795 and a related poem titled "The Locke Flat Top".
- Joe Maurath of Weymouth, MA reports a CD 110 Spiral groove Brookfield,
a CD 134 diamond P, and a CD 121 C.D.& P. Co. He also reports
information on the James Pennycuick patent.
- Bill and Ev. Getty of Conneaut Lake, PA report that the Central
District and Printing Co. established a telephone exchange in Meadville,
PA in 1881.
- Rod Laubhan of Hereford, TX provided a copy of his insulator pricing
guide.
- General speculation about "fake" carnival insulators.
- A short report on Gary Cranfill of Sacramento, CA new book on
insulators.
- Ed Mead of Nice, CA reports the CD 208 Castle in light blue glass.
- Jack Wiseburn of Clayton, NJ reports the metal and glass ramshorn
insulator known as the Mount Washington Ramshorn.
- There are drawings of seven different Fred Locke glass power
insulators.
- Article by Howard Banks of Merlin, OR "The Fred M. Locke Line" covering a
power line completed in 1903 from the Gold Ray Dam to the Greenback
Mine. This line used some M-2795 combination insulators as well as
the all porcelain M-2796 counterparts. The line also had CD 300
Fred M. Locke No. 17 insulators as well as U-192 Fred Locke
transpositions.
March 1969:

- Tom Wolfe of Auburn, NE reports a CD 105 American.
- Edgar Simon reports an unusual white porcelain marked FOLSTAD and
PAT'D JAN 1916.
- Irma Conrad of Chico, CA reports a CD 130.2 Seilers from the Kissee
collection.
- Karl Thompson of Norwich, NY reports the CD 109 Chicago teardrop pony.
- Warren Olson article on "Embossing Errors" provides two full
pages of information.
April 1969:

- Al Leslie of Hutchinson, KS reports a metal and composition trolley
insulator marked 197 on the outside metal shell.
- Ray Skibby of Ashland, OR reports a Corning Pyrex 701 CD 331.
- Doug Parks of Ogallala, NE reports a CD 248/311 Pyrex stacker.
- Jim Sanders of Ojai, CA reports a CD 201 purple California which they
picked off a pole.
- Leon Barrett of Binghamton, NY reports the CD 284 Floy.
- John McMillan, 11, of Spearville, KS reports a CD 258 with sharp drip
points.
- Mr. & Mrs. Ken Roach of Muncie, IN report a CD 109.5 Harloe
Patent. They also indicated that the carnival coating on power
insulators was to cut down on radio interference.
- Howard Banks of Merlin, OR provided pictures of the M-2795 combination eves
trough, CD 300 Fred Locke, and CD 321 Prism.
May 1969:
- Show report for the Northwest Bottle Show in Boise, ID shows an insulator
display by Floyd Audette of Boise "Groovy Insulators".
- Insulator By-Lines by Frances Terrill - Pages 49-55
- Bruce Davidson 15 of Henniker, NH reports a CD 740 threadless and what
looks like a CD 136.5 Boston Bottle Works.
- There is a note that "a lot" of people are making carnival
Hemingray-42's, red pyrex, etc. and a caution on their value.
- Francis Terrill submits a poem "Peculiar Pete".
- Article by E.R. Wankell "The Early Hemingray" providing
three and a half pages on the Dec. 19, 1871 patented
insulators.
June 1969:

- Gertrude Thompson of Norwich, NY reports a CD 301 in both green and
olive green.
- Arlene Harris of Ossian, IN reports an unusual item embossed Gray-Hemingray
& Bros Cincinnati, Ohio Patent Applied For, and on the back P. Smith
Sole Agent Cincinnati, Ohio.
- Joe Maurath of Weymough, MA reports a CD 145 G.T.P. beehive and
information on GTP.
- Bill Kuhar of Bethlehem, PA reports the Otis lightning rod patent.
- Letters from Awrren Olson of Denison, IA and E. Rostock of Pendleton,
OR both report ways to catalog insulators.
- an insulator poem by Winnie Smith of Ashfork, AZ titled "To The
Lineman".
- David Geick of Colorado Springs, CO reports CD 267 No. 4 cable and the
CD 134 T-H.E.Co. in dark amber.
- A CD 342 Locke No. 25 is shown that came from a 20,000V line near
Cripple Creak, CO with a steel pin cemented in.
