UNITED   STATES   PATENT   OFFICE

LEWIS B. STILLWELL, OF NIAGARA FALS, NEW YORK.

DESIGN FOR AN INSULATING-SUPPORT FOR ELECTRIC CONDUCTORS.

SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 34,211, dated March 12, 1901.

Application filed December 18, 1900. Serial No. 40,322.  Term of patent 14 years.

To all whom it may concern:

Be it known that I, LEWIS B. STILLWELL, a citizen of the United States, and a resident of Niagara falls, in the county of Niagara and State of New York, have invented and produced a new, useful, and original Design for an Insulating-Support for Electric conductors, of which the following is a specification, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, in which--

Figure 1 is a side elevation, Fig. 2 a longitudinal section, Fig. 3 a plan view, and Fig. 4 an inverted plan view, of an insulating-support the shape or configuration of which is in accordance with my invention.

As shown in the several figures of the drawing, the distinctive or leading feature of my invention are as follows:  The entire integral structure 1 comprises two petticoats 2 and 3, both of which project outwardly and downwardly in umbrella form, and a head 4 having a laterally-extending groove 5 in its top and grooves 6 of smaller size at its base or junction with its body portion.  The insulator also has a screw-threaded substantially

cylindrical internal recess 8 extending into the body of the insulator.  It will be seen that the petticoat 2 projects outwardly a somewhat greater distance than the petticoat 3 and that the distance between the edges of the two petticoats is approximately one-third of the entire length of the insulator, the general effect being in appearance that of one of frusto-conical device set upon and projecting over another device of similar shape, the whole effect being symmetrical and pleasing in outline.

Having described my invention, what I claim as new, useful, and original, and desire to Secure by Letters Patent, is--

The design for an insulating-support for electric conductors substantially as herein shown and described.

In testimony whereof I have hereunto subscribed my name this 3d day of December, 1900.

         LEWIS B. STILLWELL.
