Notes: Donated to the Smithsonian in 1906. Rough green glass insulator 4" long, 1-1/2" by 1-3/4" with projection at each end; hole for the wire longitudinally through the insulator with irregular slot on side; made to fit into wooden block and so placed that the line wire can be dropped into the slot. Attached to the insulator is a piece of line wire 10" long, made of four strands of a plain iron wire.
