These beautiful slag glass ashtrays are frequently mistaken for threadless insulators due to their very similar shape. The hole in the side is for the connection of a suction cup to allow attachment to a car dashboard. These come in many other color combinations than the two examples shown and they are a collectable themselves! We think that these were made by HouzeX Glass products. Versions with 10 flat sides are made by Akro Agate and 8 sided ones are attributed to Westite.
