2013 National Show

Show display awards as well as a number of special NIA awards were announced at the awards banquet.

 

Each displayer was presented with a special show commemorative that was made with extra white slag glass.

Dario Dimare receives the Outstanding Service Award

 

 

Dudley and Sandra Ellis receive an NIA Lifetime Membership Award!

 

Bill Haley, Ken Roberts and Steve Roberts receive the NIA Show Hosts Award

 

 

Jeffery Kraemer receiving the Lon C Holy Memorial Award for enthusiasm & support of the hobby.  Colin Phillips also received this award.

Elton Gish presented the Lone Star Insulator Club N.R. Woodward Education award for the best research article to Bob Scafe for his two part Crown Jewels article on British insulators.

NIA President Lou Hall presented four special "President's Awards" at the banquet

  • Clarice Gordon:  After assigning the copyright to the “What Are Insulators?” booklet she has spend many hours proofreading the new version.  Her biographies of Association members has helped provide needed background for Hall of Fame Inductees

  • David Wiecek: As Ethics Advisor he has handled complaints involving disputes, disagreements, temper tantrums, and accusations with poise, calmness, fairness, and Solomon-like resolution

  • Rick Jones: In appreciation for his guidance as the Association familiarizes itself with the “Do’s and Don’ts for a 501(c)3 public charity

  • Mike Doyle: In appreciation of his hours of discussion and work to prepare rules and procedures for the NIA handbook.  As a fellow traveler he has spent many hours in the right seat as navigator, photographer and videographer.  A true friend!
