Vista Alegre was founded by José Ferreira Pinto Bast in 1824 to make glass & porcelain products and was the first industrial unit dedicated to producing porcelain in Portugal. Between 1947 and 1968 there was a significant expansion of products and modernization and this likely included insulators. The company was bought by Visabeira in 2009.
