Joseph Schachtel: Germany
Sophienau, Germany
|
Joseph Schachtel bought the factury in 1859 and the factury was one of the first to make electrical insulators in Germany dating to at least the 1870s. Insulator production continued through 1941 when the factory was renamed Sophienau Porcelain. After World War II the factory was run by Poland and became Jedlina Zdrój. At present the factory belongs to the Lapp Insulators group. Thanks to Dominik Kałużny for much of this information.
