Rörstrand, Gothenburg & Lidköping, Sweden

Rörstrand dates back to the 1500s and was named for a clear lake whose shore was overgrown with reeds. During the 1860s Rörstrand porcelain was one of the nation's largest industries. The factory in Rörstrand was closed in 1926 and production moved to Gothenburg and in the 1930s to Lidköping with production ending in 2005. Insulator manufacturing is mentioned in trade journals in the early 1900s.
