Moscow porcelain factory 'Isolator' ("Изолятор") was founded in 1899 by Ekaterina Chokolova. From the very start the factory specialized in electric insulators of different kinds. Some of their products won prizes at World Fairs. It was the first factory in Russia to mass-produce high-voltage pin and suspension insulators. They began experimenting with high-voltage porcelain in 1907-1910 but due to World War I and Revolution mass production only started in early 20's. This factory is actuve up to the present times and specializes in high-voltage bushings. Thanks to George Sukhoff for this company history.
