This porcelain company was founded by Ivan Perevalov in late 19th century in a small place near Irkutsk called Haita. They began with porcelain dishware and later added insulators to their line of products. These were recess embossed with И П (Ivan Perevalov's initials). Perevalov's company supplied insulators for Trans-Siberian railway telegraph. In 1907 Ivan Perevalov was murdered by a bugrlar and his company was bought by two major enterpreneurs, Shelkunov and Mjeteljoff (Щ+М logo). After the Russian Revolution the company was nationalized and became known as Haita Plant of Grinding Materials and insulator production continued. Thanks to George Sukhoff for this information.
