In 1921 by Ludwig Neumann founds Erste Osterreichische Porzellanfabrik at Frauental an der Lassnitz, Styria, Austria. Although insulators were made earlier, In the 1950s the company begins focusing on manufacturing hard porcelain high voltage insulators which become its core business. In 2001 the insulator business is sold to an American investment firm, The Riverside Company.
