The porcelain manufacturer "Heinrich Baensch" was founded in 1858 in Lettin Germany near the town of Halle an der Saale. As a result of the global crisis in the 1930's the company filed for bankruptcy. The workshop continued production after changing owners and after WWII, the company was nationalized, and since 1953 operated under the name VEB Porcelain Factory Lettin Halle/Saale in the former GDR and ceased production in 1990.
